Biomedical Research, as an ISO-certified service unit, supports the core research areas of the Medical University of Graz in the housing and breeding of laboratory animals as well as in the planning, execution, and evaluation of in vivo studies. In parallel, Biomedical Research is responsible for ensuring compliance with the 3R principles in preclinical research and promotes the use and development of alternative methods.
The Biomedical Research consists of the two core facilities Experimental Biomodels and Preclinical Imaging as well as the service units Animal Facility, Diagnostic Laboratory, and Project Review. Additionally, Biomedical Research offers training opportunities for researchers at the Medical University of Graz, external researchers, and school classes.
